Like most people probably are, I was hesitant to spend this much on boots. You only live once, you only get 1 set of feet, 1 back, and you're only a good as your tools. I've worked in manufacturing for 22 years. I'm a sales engineer, sometimes I'm traveling alot, turning wrenches, on the shop floor for days, cutting wood, or chasing after fish and game. My only regret is not finding these sooner, when I was on my feet 24/7. I'll say despite what a sales position implies, I'm in my boots from 5am until 9 or 10pm everyday. These or other JKs will be on my feet until the day I die. I beat these things up, but a little hot water, conditioner, and a night on the boot dryer, bam they're like new again!

Aside from the comfort and durability I do get compliments on these alot.

Lightweight yes, nimble yes, all things. Worth the JK hype the other reviews do not lie.

Used the online size guide, couldn’t be happier. I worked a 12 hour day the second wear, no dramas.

Arch support is the happy medium, for my medium high arches. Compared to the 55 and HNW in another brand.

First I had ordered the OT Bison Shadow because they were on the shelf and they were my size. I really liked them and felt like there would've been no break in time cause the leather was so soft and comfortable but the back of the boot moved when I walked and made a squeak, wore them around the house for a few weeks to see if it was gonna go away and it didn't, so I returned them. Had absolutely no issues with the return process, in fact Corey reached out to get a better understanding of why and to make sure I was taken care of. I ended up getting the OT Redwoods because felt they might last longer with the thicker, tougher leather. They custom made them immediately and didn't have to wait since I had the return. Liz called about 5 weeks later because there was some glue thathad gotten on the right toe and given the return wanted to show me and sent a picture to make sure before they shipped, it hardly looked like anything and I was fine with it, she even threw in some free oil and a brush for me too. I asked for expedited shipping and offered to pay the extra cost but she insisted and I received them 2 days later. Outstanding customer service and extremely satisfied with the the JK team. The break in period took a few weeks and wasn't too bad, I only had to swap them out the first day, I'm glad I stuck with it cause these boots are by far the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, I like how snug they are but not too tight, they feel like they'll last forever, I'm currently…

I've spent about 2 months in these boots. As expected, the break in was uncomfortable but not for as long as I expected. Around day 5 I had an experience I had never had before - I took my boots off after a long day and my feet were not tired. After a couple weeks I noticed my knee pain and back pain was almost completely gone. I was able to squat and stand back up with minimal pain. The price is high, but I'll be surprised if I don't own a pair for the rest of my life.

I did have some fitment issues, but they were due to my own orthopedic issues - not the fault of JK. I have since also gotten a pair of 300s which I also am a big fan of, but let me say the Bison is absolutely worth the upgrade for comfort.

The leather laces I was unsure about before the boots arrived and actually planned on immediately replacing them with synthetic laces, but I did not have any handy when the boots arrives. After using the leather laces I am a convert.

I have had one issue recently with this pair; as the sole settled and formed to my foot, a lump came up under the right side of my right foot's arch. I was able to flatten that out with a hammer and punch, but that knocks a star off.

I spend 12-16 hrs a day in my boots in a variety of conditions, doing primarily residential electrical and welding/fabrication work, and I can say I think these are worth the investment. I'll almost certainly own another pair.
