"I never imagined a pair of boots could play such a critical role in helping me reclaim my quality of life. I’ve been dealing with chronic knee pain for months, pain that had escalated to the point where walking, using stairs, and even standing for short periods became a struggle. I’m a 20 year Navy veteran. I spent my entire career wearing boots daily, but when I retired, I left that part of my routine behind. I had no idea how much that change would affect me physically (...) JK Boots didn’t just sell me footwear. They gave me infrastructure. And for that, I’m genuinely grateful."

Key Features

from overtime to off-time

HIGH FLEX DESIGN

Our proprietary flex design combines a tapered leather midsole with an all-leather build to create a boot that moves the way your body was meant to move. Instead of forcing your foot into a rigid shape, the construction flexes naturally, softening with wear and forming to you over time.

PREMIUM BISON LEATHER

With all the range of motion you would expect from a free roaming Bison, it's dense and soft hide wraps your foot like a slipper - and with a staggering 40% higher tensile strength than cowhide. The unique pebbled grain is packed with "plateaus and valleys" that flex naturally with ease.

ALL PURPOSE SUPPORT

The entire boot is made from the highest grade leather to mold to your feet over time and relieve your feet and joints from fatigue. paired with the extra traction of a Vibram lug-sole sole, these boots were born to attack any condition with ease.

Just a great pair of boots

Let me just start by saying that I love my new boots. They fit perfectly, are very comfortable, look great, are reasonably water resistant, and promise to be much more durable than the boots I've worn in the past. These are keepers.

But it didn't start out that way, and I have JK's brilliant customer service to thank. I received my JK OT's in Bison leather on December 8, 2025 after spending about a day looking at several brands. I used the sizing tool they published to order the right size, and when the boots arrived, they felt snug but not any more than I would expect for a new pair of leather boots. I added the provided insoles. I called JK to confirm that the fit was not too tight; one of the helpful comments I heard was, "It should feel like a firm handshake." That described my new boots well, so I decided to keep them. They were broken in in about 10 days.

After about three weeks, I began to notice an issue with the right boot. The left boot felt perfect, but the right boot started to cause pain in my heel. I considered that maybe the insole was making the boot too tight, so I removed it, and while this helped at first, the pain in my heel was still a problem.

When I described this problem to JK, they responded right away. They gave me some suggestions to try, which I did. (For example, I used a boot stretcher on the right boot.) But when none of those ideas helped, they initiated a replacement. The second pair arrived at the end of January, and I could tell right…

    The Quality is Crazy!

These are my first ever pair of handmade boots. I don't think I'll ever buy another pair of "machine made" boots again in my life. These are incredibly well built. I was super nervous when I first ordered because they felt like they weren't wide enough. My pinky toes on both sides were going through it!!! But I decided to keep them since they weren't causing any blisters and now they fit and feel like a dream! I will go one full size up on the width on my next purchase. Which there will be another purchase no doubt. Love the bison leather. It's super thick and flexible and feels like it's going to last a lifetime. The quality control on these were perfect. Both boots were the same height and I could not find any defects what so ever. The arch support is SUPER nice! It makes a difference. I was expecting perfection for some shoes that are $700+ and these absolutely delivered that. Blew my expectations out of the water actually. Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on these bad boys. Your feet will thank you!

    Great so far!

Just got my first pair of JK's and I'm pretty happy so far! I followed sizing instructions and measured wearing wool socks, and it was spot on. My Brannock size was a 12.5 and I measured 11" around the foot and a 11.5 EEE was right on. If anything, I could go up one step in width if I were only wearing them with heavy wool socks, but as it stands, these should break in nicely.

Im blown away by the color on these boots. At first glance they may seem brown, but the crimson hues are beautiful, and the texture of the bison is great. They feel nice and stable under foot.

I wore them for a few hours around the house before deciding to keep them, My first outing was about a two mile hike out into the woods here in New England. They did not disappoint. So far I'm very happy with these boots.

Boots are great, Bison Insoles not so much

I am lumping my review of 2 items into 1 review since I offered them together, my Bison boots are great, however, as they state “trust the process” when I put them on for the first time they were somewhat painful but I knew to expect that from new boots where nothing has been broken in and formed yet. I oiled them with Neatsfoot oil the very night of my first wearing and the next day was a completely different fit, they have now started to form and take shape very nicely. The Bison insoles I ordered with my boots were disappointing to say the least, while my boots fit nicely and snug, the insoles somehow managed to move and “crawl up the walls” and severely deform ? I took them out after only 2 weeks and they are worthless now as they took on their own shape that I don’t think can be corrected?

    Why Custom Boots?

I never realized how wide my feet were until I had them measured for custom OT's. My first pair were knee high for work and since then, I have bought several other styles. The problem we have with traditional shoe stores today is nobody measures your feet anymore and we try on and buy what "seems" to fit best. And therein lies the rub; excuse the pun. Shoes that do not fit just right are not good for you, plain and simple. They wear badly and cause your feet, legs, and back to hurt. I did this for years and paid for it dearly. My first pair of JK's changed all that and frankly, they are the only shoes I ever want to wear.

From a quality perspective, JK boots cannot be beat. They are artisan crafted and tough as nails. I am on my feet running and walking in my boots every work day on average for about 8 to 10 miles. In the 30 years that I have been doing this job, JK boots are the only boots that have lasted more than a year. As a matter of fact, there is almost no wear and tear now.
