Ordered the boots after using the sizing guide, but they showed up several months later way too small to squeeze into. I called JK and found that there was a store in Redding, CA, only 3 h from me, so I hucked it down the freeway. There Jared (?) resized my foot and we came to the conclusion that the widest toe-box they have would be necessary. He took the pair that had been sent to me, and then he resubmitted the order with the new parameters. I'm currently breaking them in (the leather is substantial, so it's a bit stiff) after oiling them, and the workmanship is top notch. Once they get a bit more supple I'm going to love wearing these things. The Redding store should really get credit for this sale, as I would have simply sent the originals back for a refund if he hadn't helped me out. My only niggling complaint is that the hooks for the laces are a bit small, especially for the leather laces they send with the boots, and it makes getting these laced a bit more of a struggle. Otherwise, nothing about these are poorly made.

Boots are tanks! Very heavy, well made, and comfortable right out of the box. Much is made of the odd sizing. Follow their process and measure your feet, worked great for me.

The break in process was minimal, 150 plus hours in and they keep getting better.

I’ve put this boot through **** and back from running cattle fence to feeding to running skidsteer to cleaning up downed trees from over 6 inches of rain from hurricane helene. I don’t have no more hip pain since I’ve switched to this boot. Thank you for making the best and toughest boots. I’ll be a loyal customer from here on .

Alright let me start out by saying these boots have grown on me. They took a lot longer than I expected to fully break in (2 months) and that’s wearing them all day everyday 16 hours plus. I was a little deterred from that but once they break in they are extremely comfortable. I am a heavy equipment welder/mechanic and work on concrete, mud, dirt, rock ect. They have held up fine and kept my feet relatively comfortable. I have honestly experienced a slight separation in the midsole. I bought these in November of 2023 and it is February of 2024. However, I put myself in the extreme use category as I’m not easy on anything, so don’t use that as a deterrent from buying a pair. The rough out is not a fan of welding and leaves spots from oxy fuel cutting/ welding bbs so if you are in that industry I recommend a full slick leather. The rough out is a fairly abrasion resistant material although I have already cut the toe box on mine. Don’t get me wrong they are a fantastic quality boot, but I would make sure your occupation isn’t going to destroy them prematurely before you spend a pretty penny on them. All in all is recommend them for anyone that’s on your feet a majority of the day as they are very comfortable. As I will be buying another pair even though there are some issues with the boots I currently wear, and I’m sure JK will uphold their warranty for the separation. Placed my order and received them in 3-weeks. Little break-in is correct. Wore them to work ,nine hrs on cement floors , the next day and every day since. Heavy boots at over 3-pounds each, I don’t even notice it when I have them on. They are like leather armor for my feet. The red X soles are hard,but they are chemical resistant. So if that wasn’t necessary I would get the honey soles. Well worth the money, wish I had bought them years ago. I wasted a lot of money on Thorogoods and the likes.
