800$ is a **** of a gamble to some, to me, the investment in the health and longevity of my feet enduring long hours at work was worth it.

Break in was different than I was used to with my typical Red Wing jam, it was painful, and painful in different places. JK assured me that things would take their course, just wear em’,No pain, no gain.. but, 11 days, it took 11 days to make me a believer, My Red Wings beat me up for a few months usually, squeaky and such.

There’s no way to explain it, those who know what they’re like would only be owners..

First off these boots are amazing and you won’t regret buying them. Once you get past the break in period they’ll fit your feet like a glove and they’re comfortable as can be. Here’s the problem, your feet will get super cold in the winter. They definitely are not made for the cold. If any of you work outside in the winter I would highly recommend customizing them to get insulation put in. I wish jk would showcase on there website, stock OT Pros that already have insulation in them. By the time you get done customizing with insulation you’re looking at 800-900$ for a pair of insulated boots. For this reason I just bought a pair of thorogoods for winter and will strap my jks back on in spring.

Initially these boots came in fitting too long and too narrow despite going by the sizing chart to a tee. After talking with the folks at JK i sized down and wider and they fit absolutely perfect. The exchange process was seamless. Its an odd feeling getting used to standing on the thick leather insoles instead of the foam inserts I'm used to. After about 2 weeks and plenty of oil, they broke in great and my feet snap into the insoles like legos. As a train mechanic, I walk up to 25,000 steps a day. From concrete shop floors to rail tie ballast, these boots leave my feet feeling fresh after 16 hour shifts. Built like tanks and comfy as ****, I have no doubt these things will last long enough to pay for themselves and then some. I have a pair of bison superdutys on the way now as well and am psyched.
