You Don't Have to Work a Trade to Love the O.T. - 10 Owners Prove It

The O.T. is built as a work boot, but not everyone buying it is doing heavy work or in the trades. It's both supportive and agile while being ready for anything giving you the freedom to move, climb, crouch and react. For a variety of customers like a below-the-knee amputee ordering his first, pair, an electrician of thirty years, or a customer all the way from the UK, comfort is the one thing they all bring up.

Sixty-plus hours a week outdoors for the state of PA, cutting and splitting firewood on the side, with no break-in and zero hotspots.

"Take care of your feet and your feet will take care of you. I have had some of the best boots money can buy, and rarely have I found a boot that fit like these do! JK boots recommended going with a 9D which is not my normal boot size. What blew my mind was both boots, left and right foot, fit better than any other boot I have ever put on. Hotspots there are none. Break in time is non existent and they are absolutely beautifully crafted. I wear boots 60+ hours a week. I work for the state of PA in the great outdoors. I also cut and split firewood to sell for myself after work. I constantly have blisters or heat rash and I would absolutely have anyone convinced on why they need a pair of these. I'm 100% convinced they would still be worth the money at double the price!"

Nerve damage in his legs made off-the-shelf boots a losing bet; the 10" height and wedge sole changed that.

"Ordered custom OT's in bison. Very nice and comfortable. I have nerve damage in my legs and the 10" height with a 1/8" outside wedge has been a huge improvement in my everyday life and eliminated the need for expensive custom insoles. The bison leather is soft and subtle and very comfortable. I just hope it lasts like they claim. Quality of work is very good. I will be back."

A below-the-knee amputee who had to buy a full pair just to get the one boot he needed says it was worth it.

"So, I'm a Right Leg Below the Knee Amputee. I called and asked staff at JK if they could just make me one left boot, or if I had to buy a pair, could I buy 2 left boots. My sales rep said she ran it all the way up the ladder to the owner, and the answer was no, I had to buy both boots, as if I had two working feet. I Absolutely Love my new boot. The Buffalo is very comfortable and I'm really looking forward to about 6 months from now when my boot is broken in fully. I would totally recommend JK Boots for anyone."

An electrician with 27 years of 12-hour shift work, and several other custom brands to compare JK against.

"I'm skilled trades. An electrician, specifically. I work in the manufacturing sector. I've done this work for 27 years. All of it shift work (12 hours, 6-7 days a week). I wish I had known about JK Boots a long time ago. I discovered custom work boots a couple of years ago, and I have several pairs now, from the west coast and the east coast. I do have to say that JK does deliver on high quality, looks, and comfort. The phrase 'you get what you pay for' is absolutely true. Don't compromise on quality footwear. Your feet carry you for life."

Ordered them all the way from the UK, paying a 30% import surcharge, and says it was worth the risk.

"First time I ordered a pair of boots without trying from the US. After a lengthy email exchange I ordered a pair. Had to be right, as a UK customer I have to add a 30% additional cost. I am not disappointed. The boots were spot on. I used a bit of the supplied oil on the boots which accelerated the break in period. Took exactly 96 hours to break in. Until now I highly rated Scarpa and Grenson Triple Welt. But the O.T. is at a new level. Customer service is fantastic. Next will be ordering the bison."

Not a in the trades at all, just an office worker who wanted a great pair of boots and now can't stop showing them off.

"I'm just an average guy who wanted a great pair of boots. I was hesitant at first because I don't work in a trade, but I am infinitely glad that I bought these OTs. They took 8 days to break in. I only wore them about 4-5 times across that first 8 days. They popped onto my feet day 8. I was shocked. They feel very comfortable. I wear them to the office and stomp around so people look at my Limited Edition Coyote OT JK Boots. Yes, I'm that guy."

Roughly 900 hours in over three months, and he says they've only gotten more comfortable with every one of them.

"Received my boots October 2022. First impression out of the box was the amazing build quality, American made pride and craftsmanship. Break in was not bad, day one I wore them for 4 hours. Day 2 I put over 12 hours including a 2 mile walk in very uneven terrain. I was very happy to have the ankle support these boots provided. At 3 months I have around 900 hours in these boots and they wear great. Only footwear I have ever worn that gets more comfortable the more hours you put in them. These boots have been a great investment."

Heel pain that outlasted another pair finally cleared up after six months in his O.T.s.

"I was dealing with heel pain, and bought a pair of White's, they were comfortable but didn't fit right. I looked around and found J.K, I bought a pair of 10" OT boots, my heel pain was to the point it hurt when I wasn't wearing shoes. After 6 months of wearing my OT and White's the pain in my heel went away completely. Now I have 2 pairs of OTs and a pair of Superdutys."

After years burning through three pairs of shoes a year, he can finally feel the arch support doing its job.

"Have been wearing mine for work and play every day since arrival. The break in process was actually noticeable. I could tell the difference day to day feeling the boot loosen up in spots and fit perfectly in others. And yes you actually do sink into the sole and receive that arch support they talk about. After going through 3 pairs of shoes a year running around all day these are a refreshing change. I've had redwings, Irish setters, Carolinas. These are the best pair of boots I've ever stuck my feet in, hands down."

No insoles needed or a wider fit needed, just a boot that fit right out of the box.

"My first JK boots but definitely won't be my last. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. Fit was perfect following guidelines from JK boots website. I have fairly skinny feet but the D's were not too wide. The bison leather is dry, supple but also seems tough. Arch is noticeable but is still very comfortable. I didn't add any insoles either. They are perfect without any. I love these boots! Will be buying more JK boots soon."

From a 27-year electrician to an office worker who just wanted a nice boot, the comfort in the O.T. showed up the same way for all of them. With little to no break-in, and boots that kept feeling better the longer they were worn. Whatever brought each of them to the O.T., none of them are shopping around anymore.
