The JK Boots 300 Series: Premium Handmade Quality Under $400

Not everyone needs a 10-inch logger boot. That's why we built the 300 series for the workers who want something a little lighter and more versatile, without giving up on the quality. Named in honor of the 300 million hardworking Americans who keep this country running, the 300 is handmade in Spokane, Washington, and delivers the craftsmanship JK Boots is known for at a more accessible price point.

Built for Everyday Work and Beyond

The 300 Series was designed to meet the needs of workers who want a capable, all-purpose boot that transitions naturally from the job site to everyday life. It has that same DNA of our heavier duty logger builds: handmade construction, quality American leather, and fire-rated stitching. All in a lighter, simpler package that feels familiar and comfortable as soon as you put them on.

You can be on concrete all day, hauling materials, or just needing a reliable boot to keep up with a demanding schedule, the 300 series is built to handle all of that.

Materials and Construction

The 300 is built on 5–6oz oil-tan leather, which is a little lighter than the thick 8–9oz leather used in some of our other boots. This makes for an easier break-in and a more casual, flexible feel but still with great durability. Inside it we use the same 9-iron oak-tan leather insole found in our other boots that provides solid underfoot support and is made to mold to your foot over time.

To reduce some of the weight as well as keep the cost down, instead of having a full leather midsole, the 300 actually uses a thick rubber midsole. The outsole is the Vibram Christy wedge sole. This is a widely trusted work and casual sole that is soft underfoot and feels right at home either on concrete or outdoors.

Taking things a step further, the 300X variant has a heavier Vibram lug tread and a fire-rated sole, giving it some more grip and added protection, and we're able to do this keeping it at the same price.

What really sets the construction apart is the 360° stitchdown build. Unlike most boots that only stitch around the forefoot, we actually fold the leather all the way around the boot creating a watertight bond. In other constructions, they could be vulnerable to some leaking of water or dust, but in these it's so tightly sealed so that doesn't happen. It also lasts longer because there isn't a separate welt to wear out since the vamp and counter of the boot itself is the welt. All this combined with Technora fire-rated thread, the stitching on these will outlast just about anything else at this price point.

What Customers Are Saying

We're always looking at what our customers are saying and for ways to improve. So far the feedback on these has been strong. Our customers point to comfort out of the box with a fast break-in and impressive durability for daily wear as some of the things that stand out. One reviewer described them as the best work boots he'd owned. Many of our customers who start with the 300 actually end up adding a Superduty or other one of our models to their rotation while still keeping the 300s for everyday work and wear.

The Bottom Line

The JK Boots 300 Series proves that handmade quality and everyday affordability don't have to be mutually exclusive. Handmade with the qualities that make our boots great, all right at $400. And it's still built to be repairable so when the soles start to wear out you can just put new ones back again instead of having to buy a whole new pair. That is a lot of value that you get with these boots compared to what is out there at similar prices. Make sure you check them out or ask any questions on them and leave your feedback.
