JK Superduty Boots: Owners Log 50,000 Steps a Day and Still Call Them Comfortable

The Superduty is JK's answer to the toughest jobs you can find. Built to hold up on logging sites, construction zones, and anywhere else a boot takes a beating for twelve-plus hours at a stretch. These customers put the Superduty through hours of this kind of work with a few even doing something else entirely. One of them logged over 50,000 steps in three days without a single sore spot. Whatever the job, the comfort held up the same way.

He tested his Bison Superdutys with crampons and an ice axe on a Mt. Hood climb.

"I now own four pairs of JK boots. Three pair are variants of the Superduty/Fire Inlander platform. My Bison Superduty boots are hands down the most comfortable and beautiful of the three pair, requiring no break-in whatsoever and looking incredibly nice right out of the box. Over the past Memorial Day weekend I decided to use my Bison boots along with my first pair of crampons and my first ice axe on a short hike up Mt. Hood. I operate a concrete mixer truck these days, so lugging 60 pounds of gear and clothing from Timberline Lodge up to a campsite across from Illumination Rock was quite the chore, but I felt like the regular Superduty boots provided plenty of support."

Not a tradesman at all as he manages a shopping center, but his Superdutys are the only footwear that don't aggravate his hamstring and knee pain.

"I have only had my new Superduty Bison boots since June 6, 2023. That said, I have worn them quite a bit since then! I am not a woodsman or in the trades. I manage a shopping center in Massachusetts, but am very hands-on. The Bison Superduty boots are shockingly comfortable - almost right out of the box! In less than a day they felt like old friends! I went to these from a pair of White's Outdoorsman - there is obviously no comparison! I have been having hamstring and knee pain lately, and have found that my Superduty Bisons are the only footwear that I can wear that are comfortable and do not aggravate my problem - not sure why, but they are amazing!"

Six 12-hour days a week, 15,000 steps a night, and his old $80 insoles never solved what these boots did on their own.

"Size was dead on for their guide, I was almost 13.5 so I went with a 12.5 2ee, the perfect fit for me. So far I have had zero pain from lower back down, used to wear Thorogood wedges and had to put 80 dollar insoles in them and my feet still hurt sometimes. But JK, no pain so far, been on 6 12 hour days a week for almost 3 weeks now with at least 15,000 steps a night and I've never felt better. Break in was about 3 to 4 days at work but never had to change shoes, just stuck with it. Side note, they go through a metal detector, I go through one every day at work."

Over 50,000 steps in three days, and not a single sore spot to show for it.

"I couldn't be happier! I have over 50,000 steps in the last 3 days and my feet aren't sore even a little bit. They are also extremely durable, I don't feel like I will damage them when I'm kicking something into place. I have worn a lot of boots and never have I worn something even close to these. Even my sneakers aren't as comfortable and DEFINITELY not as durable. I won't be buying any other brand of boot ever again. JK for life!"

A paramedic working 12-hour days, and the first boot in his career that didn't take months to break in.

"I am a paramedic and I work 12 hrs a day. These are the best boots that I have ever worked in. I have worked in everything from other brands to other brands and these are the first pair of boots that didn't take me months to break in. They were comfortable right out of the box. Day one, 12 hours, my feet were tired at the end of the day but didn't hurt. I highly recommend this company and boots."

Two months of a genuinely tough break-in, and now the sturdiest, most comfortable work boot he's ever worn.

"Break-in was pretty tough, but after 2 months they were perfectly formed to my feet and fit like a glove. Absolutely the sturdiest and most comfortable work boots I have ever worn. Really well made out of quality materials. I am very hard on boots, but they seem like they will hold up to many years of hard use."
Laszlo H. · ★★★★★ · Custom Superduty

Rough terrain, hills, and volcanic rock every day with the boots being comfortable before he'd even broken them in.

"Surprisingly comfortable straight out of the box. I work in rough terrain daily with hills and volcanic rock. I'd love to give a review in 1 year's time as I'm wearing these boots daily. I'm excited for JK and their story! I wish they had a tradesman discount, otherwise thrilled so far."

Two days to break in, and now he barely notices he's wearing them.

"Best boots I've owned. Break in period was super short. I think after only 2 days of wearing them they were broke in and super comfortable. Oiling them helps a lot with break in. Had these boots a couple weeks now and at work I hardly even notice I'm wearing them."

An industrial electrician who didn't think he needed a logger-style boot until he tried one.

"I'm an industrial electrician. Really don't need loggers but now that I've worked in them I can't wear anything else. Excellent quality and comfort. 360 stitchdown done perfectly. The arch support is just right. Great addition to my JK collection. Very satisfied with my purchase."

Seventeen years in a different brand, and it only took one pair of JKs to make him switch for good.

"I've worn another brand for about 17 years and switched to JK and I gotta say these are way way more comfortable and take less time I think to break in. I think I'm gonna stick with JK from now on."

While break-in times varied, with a couple needing two months, most only needed two to four days. Once broken in, nobody called the Superduty anything less than the most comfortable boot they own. From the job sites it was built for to a hike on the mountainside, that held true for all of them. You might need a heavy logger, but once you try them you might not want anything else.
