From Work to Weekends: Real JK Boots Reviews on Everyday Wear
JK Boots are built to handle very demanding jobs, but that doesn't mean they can't be worn almost everywhere. On a hospital shift, a motorcycle ride, on weekends, church, and everyday errands, these reviews show how JK Boots combine their durability with a comfort and style that go well beyond just your work day.
“Hospital Floor Champ“
★★★★★"Working in the hospital and using my boots have been a staple for me for a decade. I can say that my JK 300 is one of the best I’ve used. It’s not too squishy, I feel secure. I’ve the 9EE, wish I had the 9E. But I got my first JK pair from the warehouse so it works! I just bought a 300x earlier as I love this first pair. Hoping to get The Archer before the end of the year!"

“300 / Forefront“
★★★★★"I've had my JK 300 composite toe for just over 3 months and I absolutely love them, they are definitely my casual day-to-day riding boots. I just recently got my JK Forefronts composite toe and let me tell you these things are built like a F-450. I did two years worth of research before I bought my 300s and then 3 months later I bought the forefronts. If you're contemplating making the purchase, just do it and well thank yourself."

“Best boots I've owned“
★★★★★"I think I've had these for about a month. I wear them almost daily as riding boots, and walk in them all day. I've never had a hot spot or pinch point of any kind with these. I've slowly cinched them down more and more as they've conformed to my feet, and more and more they feel like moccasins with thick soles. There IS a break-in period, but it's not (for me, in any case) a matter of working through the pain of stiff leather or blisters, but rather of the boots gradually becoming second skins. I can see why people sound almost religious talking about them - they really are that good. The honey Vibrams are wonderful as well - super grippy on the street without tracking all kinds of stuff into the house, while being soft and pliable. They're showing no wear so far. 3 thumbs up."
“The Real Deal; Get Yours Today“
★★★★★"My first PNW boots, already love them. Thanks to JK for being the only PNW boot company that stocks my size by default (4.5 JK/5.0 other PNW/5.5 Brannock).
Full disclosure that I am not a tradesman (well, tradeswoman). I just like sturdy, US- and European-made goods, and especially footwear and clothing. Still, these forefronts are outstanding, even as a seasoned connoisseur of high-quality boots. I use these for daily wear, mostly on pavement or indoors, but also for some short hikes. They don't feel heavy, nor do they induce fatigue, even after many hours (40-60 per week). My arches are pretty flat, and yet my forefronts feel great. Ever since the insoles broke in (about 5-7 days of wear), I've had 0 arch pain, which was an issue in previous boots I've owned.
I was hesitant about how an 8-9 oz leather would feel on my foot, but I've been pleasantly surprised. The leather, which is comfortably thick, gets more supple with time, without compromising on ankle support or overall protectiveness. It has nice pull-up quality and takes scuffs gracefully, and the redwood color shows off different undertones under various lighting conditions (photos attached).
I lace my boots up aggressively, and often re-adjust throughout the day. I can say with certainty that the brass eyelets and hooks are built to take a beating. The metal hooks on other "high-end" boots (Lowa, most namely) have snapped off/in half from how much pressure I apply when lacing, but I've probably treated my forefronts 2-3x as harshly, with little movement in the hardware at all.
JK customer support was also excellent. I contacted them over both phone and email, and they helped me choose the right size. They said that 4.5 4E would be best, but it would require a custom build, so I went with 4.5 3E, an in-stock option. I have a tiny amount of toe rub on the outside of my foot based on the wear pattern inside my boot, but it's not even noticeable while wearing them. Besides being in stock, I chose the 8" height because that's the height I'm used to wearing, and I prefer a fully-gusseted tongue, which isn't currently a feature on the 6" model. The tongue leather, which looks to be about 4 oz, is very generous in terms of room, and comfortable out-of-the box.
My only "wish" is that the forefronts were 365 stitchdown instead of 180/270, but I've heard newer forefronts are getting that upgrade. I may be due for a second pair, in time..."

“Great Everyday Boot“
★★★★★"Great fit and comfortable out of the box. Bison leather is very supple and almost no break-in required. I have purchased 3 pairs of these boots from JK."
“Great boots“
★★★★★"300 boots are about the perfect boot to go between work and normal life for me .I'm a residental garbage man, and the flat vibram sole is great when I'm running around pulling cans . Best part is after work I can brush them off and where them casually because the smooth black leather look great as well !! Will definitely be buying another pair of JK boots!"
“I love my boots!“
★★★★★"My boots are great. I have had them about three weeks now, and work them almost every work day. I work in a jail, so I walk 5-10 miles on hard concrete floors every day. I wear them on the weekends, as well. I even wear them to church. With each wear, they just continue to get more and more comfortable. My only complaint is that one of my pull loops broke the very first time I tried them on."
“Amazing product!“
★★★★★"Replacement for worn out Redwing product. Price made me reluctant to buy, however, a great decision! Boots fit like a glove, short break in time, and Bison hide looks amazing. Casual wearer on weekends for cutting firewood, working on the farm, etc. Quality Engineer for 30 years and will attest to the craftsmanship of the boots. Reliability and longevity are yet to be known after only a couple of months of wear; but initial experience suggests that price is well worth it."
“Custom western packer“
★★★★★"Awesome walking boots, the higher heel and arch support fit my feet well. This is the 6th pair of JK boots I have purchased, Mostly Superduty boots for work, these are weekend boots, I love all of them. At work my favorites are my Superduty Coyotes. Keep building the good stuff for us."
“Blacked Out“
★★★★★"Love the Boots ORDERED 1/2 SIZE SMALLER THAN THE OT Buffalos and they fit like a dream. Mainly for motorcycle riding although I don't take them off. Although Again, I had to order the matching tongue separate at additional cost. It is mind-blowing that custom made boots can not be packaged with a FULL length tongue. Yah it still bothers me. And no not enough to not continue to look to JK for my CA Wildfire Loss for replacement's."
