Best Work Boots for Electricians and Linemen: 10 Verified Reviews

Electricians and linemen put a lot of wear on their boots in comparison to other trades. From spending long hours on your feet to a lot different types of movement like crawling or climbing up and down, in addition to providing comfort, it's also important for their footwear to be safe and be built to last. If you've dealt with back pain, knee pain, or boots that fall apart every few months, you're not alone and there's a way to fix that. Here's what electricians and linemen are saying about these common complaints after trying a pair of JK Boots.

“Worth It“

★★★★★

"I’m an electrician in south Texas usually working 10-15hrs. Summers are humid and about 105degrees so I’m always blowing through boots every 3-6months. Started having back and knee problems so a lot of research found me to JK Boots. I initially found ***** and ****** but their customer service was trash and JK Boots had more of a southern hospitality feel so I would rather pay more because you can tell quality in people that care. Perfect set up to size my foot and ask questions confidently. I’m glad I chose JK Boots because they tailor to working class and not just whatever is in style with bs material like the competitors. I am already saving up for my next pair and praising Jk to anyone I meet or compliments my boots. From standing on ladders, crawling in attics and outside heavy work these boots have taken away my back and knee pain forcing me to get new ones for all different occasions. I’m a JK Boot lifer convincing other to be too; you won’t regret it trust the process "

"I was hesitant to buy these because of the cost. I understand quality items bring high prices but having never had experience with this brand and not knowing anyone that had any experience with it was a difficult choice. I’m 5 ft 10 inches tall and pushing 280 lbs. As an electrician, I’m on my feet 10 hours a day so comfort and boot longevity are extremely important to me.
Now, I waited almost 2 months before I received my boots. I’m very impressed with the quality of material and the quality of workmanship looks great too. Time will tell if they hold up to my abuse. My only complaint is that I ordered per the the recommended sizing for my Fred Flintstone feet and these are extremely tight across the widest part of my foot. I know once they are broken in they will probably feel better but I can only wear them about 4 hours a day before I have to put my old boots back on."

“8" brown Forefront "in stock"“

★★★★★

"With much thought and consideration of all the PNW boot companies, I decided to purchase a pair of JK boots Forefronts in brown. I used JK's sizing measurements and ordered the recommended size, even though it seemed small. I'll be damned, they fit perfectly. Trust their sizing measurements, it's just a number! Break in was short, not nonexistent, oiled the outside and oiled the inside of the heel/ankle area per JK's break in video. A few hours a day for a few days and they were like an old pair of slippers. Needless to say, I'm very happy with my purchase, so much so that I will be ordering a pair of O.T. or Super duty for rough country hunting. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the quality is excellent, and I actually recieved a call from one of the boys about my order. Keep up the good work!"

“Perfect for me“

★★★★★

"As electrician i need boots that can do it all. be on a ladder for extended times. be on concrete for hours. be in the mud and dirt. and these have already been through it all and have passed with flying colors. Super stiff out of the box but have been breaking in great. can wear them all day at work and come home to do housework outside and not think about my feet at all. 10/10 would absolutely and have recommended these boots in particular but JK in general."

"The Tiller is an excellent boot! I am a lineman by trade and have had many different brands and styles of boots. I really liked the styling of the tiller when I saw it on your website. I do wear them to work and am very impressed with their performance. Break in was almost non existent. They fit perfect and within a few days formed to my feet. I truly enjoy these boots! I am a boot snob and can no longer by cheap off the shelf boots. Thank you!"

“Boots“

★★★★★

"I have been a union electrician for 33 years. In other words I’m on my feet all day. I also have a very wide foot and the options for getting a comfortable pair of boots used to be impossible. I have never had a handmade pair of shoes before, and I think I’m never going back to mass produced shoes.

The only regret I have is not making the switch before now. "

“F@kin awesome!“

★★★★★

"I was skeptical at first but I'm a believer now! I'm comparing them to wesco's and Russell Moc's both high end boots. These are well made tougher than woodpecker lips! Break in time is about 3 days and they wear like a old favorite. Honey vibram sole is my favorite as it wears great on concrete or in the woods. Footbed is amazing breaks in around your foot. "

“Amazing Boot. Amazing fit.“

★★★★★

"Went into the JK Boots location in AZ. Nick was awesome. Helped get me sized up properly, and made selecting the right boot easy. Boots came in **** quick, and I couldn't be happier with the fit. Break in was a piece of cake, and they look great. Looking forward to putting them to work for years to come."

“Awesome boots“

★★★★★

"Very well made and comfortable. Break in was no fun but they got better and better every day. It took 2 and a half weeks for them to start feeling really good. They are made out of heavy duty material so I expected the break in to be an issue. They are next level boots, the real deal, I love them."

“Best made boots I’ve ever owned“

★★★★★

"I was a little bit nervous at first when I ordered them but 3 weeks in and I’m honestly upset I didn’t buy them sooner in life. I will never buy mass made boots ever again. This is the first pair of JK’s and the second order is in with hopefully many years of business going there way "

Final Thoughts

These electricians and linemen turned to JK Boots out of necessity after other mass-produced options let them down. As a result they've been able to deal with their back pain, knee pain, fit issues for wide feet, and boots blowing out every few months. After picking up a pair, many wish they'd found them sooner. While there is a break in period, once the boots form to your foot, you can work all day without having to think about your feet. If your current boots aren't holding up to what you demand from them, it might be time to switch to a pair that will.
