Are JK Boots Worth the Price? 10 Customers Did the Math

JK boots cost more up front than most other work boots. These reviews come from customers that know it with several even saying so in their first sentence. What changes the math is the full-grain leather, Technora thread, and construction built to be resoled and rebuilt. Ten owners, from a warehouse lead who kept replacing sneakers to a firefighter whose boot allowance kept disappearing, explain what they were really paying for before and after purchasing their pair.

Five pairs of boots sitting broken in his closet, and a prediction that these will outlast them by more than double.

"I have about five pairs of boots that are sitting in my closet with random things wrong with them from other manufacturers. Mostly the soles or some other little plastic thing is broken or falling apart before they are really worn out. I knew I wanted something that was fully stitched and had either leather or metal to hold it together. This boot definitely has all that... I can say with certainty that I am now able to work longer and harder before my back or my feet even start to hurt... They are about twice the price of the typical boots I buy but there is no doubt in my mind they will last more than twice the life so they are actually saving me money. If you are on the fence just get some, you'll thank me later."

A warehouse lead who was replacing $100 sneakers every five or six months, and is now on his third pair of O.T.s.

"As a warehouse lead, I went through sneakers every 5 to 6 months at at least $100 each. So then I got some Timberland Pro boots. They are better than sneakers and lasted longer but after 5hrs or so my feet were hurting me. After searching for work boots I came across JK, seen reviews and videos, I got my first pair of OT bison. My feet are thanking me, after 10hrs + of work my feet don't hurt. Now I just got a second pair for work but they look too nice for work, so I'm going to order a third pair for work. Thank you again."

Eighteen years in the fire service, with a boot allowance that kept going to boots that wouldn't even last a whole year.

"Just a quick review. I've been in the fire service for 18 years. Spent my boot allowance buying factory made boots that some wouldn't last a year. My recommendation is spend the money up front and these boots will pay you back in comfort and longevity. Thanks JK boots!"

Tight on money, and glad he stretched for the better boot.

"I don't make a lot of money. So it's hard to spend a couple hundred more dollars on a pair of boots. I'm glad I did. It is obvious these boots are worth it. Thanks for making a quality product. I'll be buying another pair when I can."

On his second 300 series boot, worn on a hospital floor, and treated as something worth taking care of and passing down.

"This is my 2nd 300 series boot, 1st 300X. Just as the first one I bought, I love this! I'm not hard on boots and I really take care of my investments, something I'd like to be able to give to my grandchildren when the time comes. For what I use it as, nursing floor boot, I feel so comfortable and stable at every step! Thanks for making an affordable PNW boot!"

A pair of Climbers that lasted over a year on a pipe crew and are still going in the Wyoming oil patch.

"I have two pairs of climbers for hot and cold weather. The unlined pair have lasted for a little over a year, break in wasn't needed. I worked as a heavy equipment operator on a pipe crew and had to do some hot mix patches with em and they lasted and feel great. A bit heavy but not a big deal to me. But as of now a true test for these boots is now I'm a derrick hand on a workover rig in the Wyoming oil patch and they still keep going... Definitely worth it though in my opinion."

Four pairs in, and willing to talk to anyone nervous about the price.

"Best boots I ever owned. Started out with a pair of super duty, love them too. Let's just say I own 4 pair JK now. Excellent customer service! If anybody has questions, have JK give you my number. I know it's a BIG investment. Talking to a current customer may help."

Put off by the price for a while, then bought a pair 300X and now already has Bison O.T.s on order.

"My 1st pair of PNW boots, I had been interested for a while but a bit standoffish for the price. Well now I fully understand the price. I liked these so much I have a pair of Bison OTs on order now too!"
Miguel A. · ★★★★★ · Honey Bison (Smooth)

A first pair of Northwest boots that he expects to keep getting better.

"They are great. It's my first pair of NW boots and they rock. They are a lot of money but worth it at the end of the day. At least so far and I expect they will just continue to get better."

Despite the price gap, the quality is worth it.

"Great quality! For an extra hundred bucks or so the quality is worth it, great job JK team!"

Every one of these owners had to ask themselves if the price was worth it at some point, with most of them having the same conclusion: it cost them less over time. Boots that outlast two pairs of another kind, that get resoled instead of replaced, and that stop the cycle of buying again every few months. Add to that the support and comfort you get from the full leather build and the price is the last thing you're thinking about once you wear them. Spend it once, and let the leather and stitching do the rest.
